Hello. I just picked up a black Grom over the weekend and am looking at replacing the exhaust with a Two Brothers full system. I have seen the videos of the exhaust on You Tube but it is hard to actually tell how loud they are. I am looking for input from anyone that has the TBR system and if they think this system is loud to the point of being pulled over by the police for the sound. Thanks. BTW I dont think I have had this much fun in a while!!

I haven't yet and I've driven past several with mine with out the sound insert. All depends on if the cop wants to make an example of you or not lol.

i think as long as you dont whizz by a leo going WOT, you will be fine,

i have a full yoshi, and its loud, my roommate says he can hear me 2+ blocks away, but i ride WOT almost everywhere

If you get pulled over, ask why they don't stop Harley riders. There's a ton of loud pipes here in Wisconsin. Nobody I know has had police trouble because of them.

The only time you will receive a ticket for loud pipes will be when it's an add on to something else such as speeding, reckless driving (wheelies, burn outs etc..)

At least that's been my observation since I've been riding.

Interesting question. Thing is, it is almost entirely a local issue. Texas has no limit on the noise from mufflers, but that is not quite as good as it sounds. What it means is that the police can decide what they feel is too loud. Actually that is still ok as it turns out, cause I know a lot of motorcycle people and far as I know, nobody has ever gotten a ticket for loud pipes. I would just ask around your area. Call a motorcycle club and ask your question. It's going to be like speeding on the highway. If you are a lone wolf out on the highway going 80 mph in a 70, you might get stopped. If you are in among many other people and all of you going 80 mph, nobody gets stopped. In other words, don't be the only one around with a loud pipe and you will probably be OK.

These bikes with full systems are not that loud. There are many stock bikes that are way louder.

I got pulled over once on my ninja with a two bros pipe. The situation went a little like this:

Me: How's it going?

Cop: Good. Any idea how fast you were going?

Me: No. I was focusing on the road ahead of me.

Cop: Alright well I heard your exhaust (referring to me revving almost to the limiter in 1st).

Me: Oh sorry. My exhaust is pretty loud.

Cop: Alright well slow down a little out there. Have a good day.

Moral being, they heard me enough to know I was going fast but didn't get me on radar so they hoped I would get myself in trouble. So as long as you're not WOT you should be ok.

I'm rolling around NYC with a custom two brothers exhaust. So far no trouble, but there are lots of other loud bikes out there, I coast past cops, and quite frankly, i still look like a food delivery guy. I don't attract that much attention.
