dont finance toys, if you cant afford it just save up till you can

the only thing you should ever finance in your entire life is your home, and job related expenses like a work truck tools shop equip etc.

run the #'s if you finance the grom, if you make the minimum payment, you will prolly end up paying like $5-6k for your grom when its all said and done - and if you finance, the bank who owns the bike will make you have full coverage on the bike (to protect their investment)

if you cant pay for it outright - just save up until you can, ppl who tell you to finance a bike to build credit is retarded, you can build credit easily by making payments on your credit card, you dont need to open up extra debt to increase your credit score.

This is the most idiotic blanket statement I've ever seen.
Much like your "real motorcycle" theory...
You obviously don't know shit about credit then...
No one says you have to make min
payment. You can pay it off I'm a year after putting down 1/2.
Its still adding to your credit payment history. So maybe your the retarded one.
I may enough money to buy 10,000 groms and have a pretty good credit score. Guess what? It's still more intelligent to finance it. Period. Who gives a shit if you pay a couple hundred in interest.
No one gives a damn how much $ is in
your pocket. In the end of the day my signature accounts for far more then your pocket change.

Actually, I financed over $1,700 of my Grom and am paying less than $60 in interest over the life of the loan (24 months). So actually, if you are able to invest your money so that your return on investment is higher than your interest paid, it would be wiser to finance your Grom rather than pay cash.

I am one who uses credit and financing as I am always looking to improve my credit score even though I have the cash to purchase those items. You can't eventually finance that home if you never use credit. Logic is flawed. You can build credit by paying on your credit card, a revolving account, but they also like to see installment accounts on your credit history.

Long story short, do your own research about how to build credit and use financing. Don't take my word for it, or any other random person. :blackgrom:

i ran the number and I prolly can't afford the Grom. So I'm fixing to buy me a couple of those Chinese copies. When your looking for a real motorcycle, you only need to no one thing: by a used won. Their the best. You just need to no wear to look and were to by it. Dont fine nance. Pay weather you can a Ford it or nut. I yam typing this on a 'puter I paid for with CASH. Pentium in theyre. I don't know how much you have in you're checking account, but keep saving.
Same old story from the peanut gallery.

Sounds good. That's where I hope to be at, like 50-60 a month so I can pay extra. And financing should be easy with half down. Have to call and get an insurance quote tommorow I'll post the price up here when I do.
Thanks to someone letting me
Borrow there vin# lol!

Assuming 3k and 4.99% (Honda's current best APR) if you financed 3k for your Grom you would pay back approx. 3250 on a 3 year loan or about 90 a month. You aren't going to be paying 5 or 6k. That said it's always better to pay the least amount possible especially for a non essential such as a motorcycle. Now if you are trying to build or rebuild credit the question to ask yourself is the $250 you pay in interest going to save you on your next note? IE if it get's you into 0.9% for your next car vs. 8.9% because of financing the grom then go for it. However anytime you put your name on a note remember there is always potential for a problem which could negatively impact your score.

Anyway, the OP just asked how we paid. I swiped a card to get money back and extended protection, then sent them the full amount the next day!
