Honda Grom Deals Gap 13th-19th trip anyone?!

I'm going, hotels booked for April 13th-19th.... Who else is trying to meet up and ride Deals Gap (The Dragons Tail) on the Grom?

If we start getting this going now, we should have plenty of options on rides and locations to pick people up along the way. Last trip in September ran me right around 300 and that included everything from gas in a 10mpg truck and hotel split between 3 people.

Here's some footage from September if you don't know what Deals Gap is.

We always stay in Robbinsvill at the MicroTel that's about a 10-15min ride into the dragon and is perfect to get the tires warmed up a bit. If you have any questions hit me up!

Looks like my spring break falls right into that time frame. I'll have to convince the girlfriend to let me go or maybe she'll get her license by then and come join me.

Be safe guys. Just laid mine down on a very similar road where I live yesterday.
Gear up to the max and hope for the best.
I was simply just pushing the bike too hard in turns with no steering damper.

hell yeah! It's seriously the best time of the year to go. I'll be bringing the lady next September, but April is going to be the last mans trip to the dragons tail.

I'm in a leather suit on the dragon as I know how crazy it gets. This leather suit though has saved my rear twice now and won't ride without it if I'm riding hard.

I'm in for Sunday the 13th and maybe that Monday too. Looove it up there, avatar picture was snapped on a trip up there. We used to go every couple weekends but ever since my CBR went to being a full time track ho and sold the street toy, I don't get to make trips as often as I'd like to.

Hopefully I'll be able to drag a few local Grom buddies up with me too.

I'll say out of all the trips I've made up, the Grom has been the most fun through the dragon without a doubt.

not 100% on if i can make it or not considering this early but if i can i will try to make friday and saturday.. we usually do a spring ride around that time..

Will try, where are you staying? We usually stay at Microtel in Bryson City. Manager is a rider and offers biker discounts!

we always stay at a micro-tell in robbinsonville as we get the same rates from when we started going 3 years ago. when it gets a little closer to time im going to see if i can't get everyone the same deal to try and help out the group and bring them money as well.

Little far for me from So Cal but those look like some great roads. Be sure to give us a post ride review.
