They can overcharge by $1,000 because Honda is shipping so few of them. I bought mine from a fairly large dealership in Selma, TX and it is the only one they got in. I'm not sure if they are doing this to try and keep the selling price high by eliminating competition among dealers and high demand, or whether they just haven't built enough. It could be like the diamond trade where there are tons of the jewels, but if they put too many on the market at one time, the price will have to fall. Iphones, Playstations, and X-boxes, etc. might be better examples. Problem is, there are a lot of very good small bikes either out now or coming out soon, so people who cannot find a Grom might just move on to something else. Glad I got mine though.
