I've been poking around this forum for a couple of days now, and have to say that I like what I've seen. I'm 48 and have been an off-road devotee since age 7, but got the itch for a street mount about a year ago. What's encouraging to me is how experienced riders are excited about the Grom. While it'll undoubtedly be a great introduction for new riders, hopefully Honda's marketing department won't alienate seasoned riders from the model. The only thing left for me to say is that this June and July are going to seem very, very long!
To me this is a modern replacement for my ysr50 I should have never sold.
Been riding street for 23 years and can't wait for this bike to hit. I'm planning to buy one to start then maybe a 2nd next year if the wife wants one too, she's been riding street for 3 years now on a Ninja 250.
Oh yeah, I LOVE my new 250L, my favorite bike and most fun bike I have had in a long while. Does low 80's on the highway, gets me 60-65mpg (after my mods) can go anywhere, was cheap and has very low service intervals... WIN! LOL. It's a great bike for what I do which is a daily year round rider for commuting, errands, local group rides and light duty off-roading (trails, fire roads). Some others who track the bike and do more hard offroading have done a bit more modding to make it more dirt oriented... the riders of these are soup to nuts in age and usage of the bike. The aftermarket picked it up very quickly too thankfully... which I hope also happens with the Grom.
Slolane: I checked out both links and am really impressed with both the bike and your build in particular. I thought the 230L was the best thing Honda had come up with in 25 years, but with the new 250 it's only getting better.
