Hey guys, new guy here.

I bought a second hand grom from my mate last month. I tried second gear with 6krpm and popping the clutch and the front doesn't pop up. I tried wheelie-ing with first gear..reving 6krpm and pop the clutch... it does like 2-3 inch max. How do you guys do it? I am already sitting at the passenger's seat to give the weight distribution towards the rear.

Before you say that I am going to kill myself bla bla bla... I do have some experience on bikes....i rode GSXR600K7 (sold) for 3 years, 2003 CBR600RR (sold) for a year and 2008 R6 (sold) for a year...went to Philip Island for Sportbikes training (2 times). i did some accident wheelie under hard acceleration but nothing major (mainly because of the repair cost. lol)

I think my friend changed the sprocket but he doesn't remember the setting though.

I don't have a lot of time on my Grom, but I found that wheelies are not nearly as easy as I expected. The front end is heavy and getting it to balance point takes a deliberate effort. It's not impossible, but it requires more technique than just dumping the clutch. My advice is to work on this with an easy bike (pretty much any dirtbike or even a mini). Work on loading the forks with the front brake then giving a good tug while clutching up. It'll come right up if you do it right. Timing is critical and comes with experience.

I'm trying to do very slow 1st gear wheelies and am finding that getting it to the balance point is easy enough but keeping the bike up at slow speeds (without it wanting to fall to one of the sides) is difficult. Going faster would make this a lot easier, but that's not what I'm trying to do. I've played around with the rear tire pressure but I think the key is to just spending time working on it.

you can try redline with OEM gearing, and yes positioning your ass as far back on the seat as possible REALLY helps.

i have the same problem i can get it up, but cant balance it due to lack of horsepower/skill on my part.

Ask Elizzer, he should know. FF to :20 this was him yesterday.

I don't want to break my Grom, so I will leave stunting to everyone else. I will just be in the background taking pics and filming it all!

The slower you start the lower the rpms will be. Body position makes a huge difference. I don't know my tire pressure, but I have been stunt riding for almost 20 years and the slower you want to go to lower the air pressure. I would guess that I have 15 psi in the vee rubbers. The next time we ride I will post a video and will see what I got as far as pressure

Awesome. Thanks for the vid. Appreciate it.

Let me check with my tire pressure next time. I am thinking I am not really 'popping' the clutch. I weight 150lbs 5ft 10. Wonder what psi I should do if it is for track use?

Off topic: Where did you mount your camera? I tried mounting it on the handle bar and it shakes so bad that the vid is useless.
