OK as some of you already know, Hard Racing is a vendor here with their finger on the pulse of the motorcycling community. They have a number of parts available for the Grom but wanted more. They contacted Driven USA and convinced them they needed to make rear sets and other goodies for the Grom. The owner of Driven is a total gear head motorcycle lover so it did not take much convincing.

But they needed a bike. So I threw myself on the grenade and gave up my Grom for the past two weeks. It has been out at Driven and they and been making prototype parts for it.

I picked it up today. My bike is still completely stock while they produce their first run of parts. Should take 3-4 weeks and then I will go back out there with my bike and we will test fit the final products and right after that they should be for sale.

So.... what are they making specifically for the Grom?

Axles Sliders
Engine Inspection Covers
Oil Fill Plug
Counter Shaft Sprocket Cover
Rear Sprocket Bolts
Rear Sets

If you get a chance to check out their products and especially their rear sets on line you will see they produce nothing but top quality products. While there I picked up a prototype rear set and asked if this is what they were producing for the Grom. His response was yes but the one I was holding was the very first one they made and it was just too big for the Grom.

Guys, I felt like I was holding a billet piece of jewelry in my hand. Not light a flimsy, just small and tight and strong. Lots of adjustability and super clean machining.

These parts are going to be awesome!

Not a deal breaker as over 90% of my riding is solo but there's a 10 year old that would be heartbroken if she couldn't ride anymore. Their existing product line up looks good. Hope the grom stuff follows suit.

Yeah I am sure it will. My kids are older. I don't need passenger pegs on this bike with a Harley parked in the garage.

OK a little update. I dropped my Grom off at Driven USA yesterday. They are going to test fit the production parts, send everything out for anodizing and then final fit everything on my bike and I will pick it up next Saturday. Driven has made:

Rear sets
Oil dip stick
Axel puller (Very Cool)
Countershaft cover
Timing Cover

And I cant remember what else. I was literally looking at STACKS of parts and we were walking from row to row to row around the warehouse as he was showing me stuff.

I was really cool. I would be able to post photos late next weekend.
