Ok, I have browsed around here, google, etc and still the information is, how should i say it, incomplete. Im looking to replace my bars with a nice gold piece to match the forks. I like the height of the stock bars and do not wish to go much lower really. Everyone is telling me to get Honda XR50 Pro-taper bars. Great but are all Pro-taper XR50 bars the same? I assume they fit and the clamp area for the controls is the correct length to get the grips brake, bar ends etc attached. This is a 2-parter question. Now i am a firm believer some things on eBay (not all but most) are the same quality. Is this hold true for the "eBay Pro-Taper Wannabe" Bars? It it matters, I have a 2017 Grom.

As long as they are 7/8" bars, they'll fit. Cables wont be an issues.

I'm tall, 6'3", and resisted getting shorter bars for a long time. Then I saw a guy a track day with the ProTaper Honda Mini's. I asked if I could sit on his Grom to get a feel. I loved it and ordered them that same day. Shorter bars aren't nearly as uncomfortable as you'd think, and in my case, actually more comfortable. But that's not your question and they don't come in gold as far as I know anyways.

Thank you for the response! The stock bars now when doing slow speed turns, they hit my thighs i would think the smaller/lower bars would be worse, no?

No, but I have them rotated forward. If you're looking at my bike from the side, my bars make a 90 degree angle and are straight up and down. I rotated my stock bars to same way until I switched them out.

They won't hit if they are far enough forward.
Try moving your standard bars to a more upright position in the clamps to see if it helps.

Makes perfect sense. Just haven't messed with it yet. After some more research, I think the Road Highs are going to be my choice in a replacement bar. Gold of course. Thanks guys!

And for your other question, depends on how you are riding. If you're just cruising around town you could get away with Walmart kid bicycle bars. And all pt xr50 bars are the same. If it was a different bend it would have a different name.

I have the KLX110 bars on my bike and they're perfect
Did you have to shorten them at all or no? Do you have any pictures of them installed?
