I got quoted at 600 a year for full coverage but I'm 21 with no documented riding experience because I've never had insurance on a bike.

It depends on what the difference is between just liability and full coverage.

All posted, doesn't matter what someone even down the street has, yours most likely won't be comparable. I paid $26 a year full coverage on my Ape while living in a county in MD, moved the next county over and it went to $450 a year. Moved across the county and full coverage is $738. My quote on the grom is around $250 something without collision coverage.

I know it's not relevant to you guys.
But today i have just insured our bikes
It came to 200euros each fully comprehensive
That hurt a bit coz i would expect to pay half that in the UK

dog
Thanks stray, it's because the model year is 2014 ... if you could find a 1982 GROM or MSX they'd be around 3 euros for the same coverage lol

I remember my Ruckus was $100 a year for liability when I was 20. My last ticket was over 3 years ago(knock on wood) and I just hit that mythical age of 25 where your insurance magically lowers, so hopefully it'll be fairly cheap. Oh, and I already have my car insured by Progressive so adding the bike on should be cheaper too.

My State Farm (SF) agent roughly guesstimated (i.e., pulled a number out of his butt), that it'd run me about $200 per year, for full coverage on my Grom, given its engine size. The one thing I don't like about my SF coverage, is that they offer no discounts on their motorcycle policies. No multi-policy, no "I took a rider's education course", no multi-vehicle or accident-free discounts, nada. Their rates are their rates on the bikes.

I talked with Progressive yesterday and asked what the Grom was going to cost me. $128.00/yr. that's cheaper than my Ruckus or my wife's Met. Of course I have the ruck and met with full coverage. With all three my bill will be just under $500/yr.
