I understand this maybe blasphemy to some but I am not a fan of the oem grom headlight. To me it just looks too futuristic, as though it were modeled after a droids head. I have seen some of the ebay options and have yet to see anything I really like either. I saw a couple on there that looked like ironmans head but with one eye:crazy:. What I would like to see is some thing more old school looking (traditional). I was even thinking how the ruckus oem double cluster would be a cool look. Basically something maybe even like the Buell lightning head light. I am not set on a double cluster light maybe even just a standard single light. There maybe a little work to tidy up the wiring to achieve a nice clean look though.

So am I the only one thinking this?

here's a pic of the Buell headlight

Some cool options there guys thanks for posting. I totally respect the aesthetics others find pleasing they just might not be my taste. I am not a fan at all of the LED strip lights and the overall shape of the stock oem housing just looks wrong to me on this machine. Albeit the stock housing with the double light posted above does look a little better, as the two lights arranged vertically help draw attention away from the overall funky looking oem shaped housing. I am not trying to bash others choices here and as mentioned it's just a matter of personal preference. I will keep the stock light until something cool pops up. Basically I will probably hold out for a more traditional double (side by side, similar to oem ruckus light) or possible a basic single light sans housing conversion. If anyone has a setup or has seen pics of a setup similar to this lmk.

Thank you

I don't like the rows of LEDs at all. Too robo-cop looking for me. Nothing against it and I think that is one cool Grom, just not at all for my personal tastes.

I'd also really like some more traditional looking headlight options for the Grom. The twin lights on the Buell and old Gixxers look classic to me.

Then use the ruckus headlights if you like them, cheap too!

i was also looking at existing options and nothing really caught my attention. so i went the custom route and started to build my own to get the form and function of my preference. additionally, you are able to use better components.

the lens is not mounted in this pic, but you get an idea of what you can do. projector shields are painted black for the blackout look.

led DRL for improved visibility as the projector output has a sharp cutoff

red demon eye that will be used from my alarm indicator.

the protrusion of the projector/shroud combo does help fill the dead space created by the lens.

What you use to fabricate the black housing?!

I agree with Cisco, $900 for headlights are just too much...

Either way Sbmon,

how much wanna bet the people that buy that bike get rid of their "ugly headlight too...

I think it is funny how bike that have fairings, get stripped for the nekked look.

But like with the grom, there are some of us that add pieces back to the grom bc it is too nekked. i.e. Cowl, engine scoop, windshield.

I don't mind the stock look. Wouldn't matter naked/full fairing. Just so happens its a mini, just like the ZB50, and CRF50. I just like to have fun doing wheelies and circles thats why I like them. Everything else is just mods for my own personal liking. Lots of minis in this house. Anywho..

definitely changing the headlight on this thing as I'm not a fan either. Anyone of the above options is better than stock.

Stock Sucks! lol
