I killed my truck so I am now having to rely on my Grom as my sole means of transportation. It is bone stock with close to 700 miles on it now. Is anyone else out there riding their Grom as their daily driver? I plan on starting some minor mods. Air box mod, probably a slipon exhaust and drop to a 14 tooth sprocket. Nothing major. Yet.

yes, i rode it through winter down to some 25 degrees in the AM's

i only truck it if its raining out

figure out how to hold your groceries, either a backpack or a topcase - your going to need it.

ive been moto only a few years in the past, its a PITA when its raining - other then that enjoy the ride.

I did it with my 09 R1 for a year and a half or so. Get a good rain suit like frog tots, Frogg Toggs and some decent waterproof boots and gloves. Cold wet weather sucks balls so dress really warm or get heated gear. ( Not sure if the grom can handle power requirements for heated gear ).

Other option of course get a used car or you can always lease a smart car for $100.00 and $1000.00 down. I ended up leasing a smart as transitioning car.

I switch between my grom an cbr for my commute, but its mostly grom. They sell racks an boxs that attach lockable an quick disconnect. My grocery store is about a mile away. So I jus ask them to double bag an I jus hang it on my wrist. I also have some buckle straps to secure thing to my rack. I fit a 12pak bud light to it numerous times. But for costco I use my car/truck.

daily ride now to the gym, to the store, or where ever.
a rack is a must. I use a MC bungee net, a grocery bag "blue" that was given away for eco-use to reduce plastic grocery bag. A nylon belt with buckle snaps and adjustable length. I have carried from Costco 5 doz egg crate, tuna cans, rice and other items. Going India style packing but fun.

Wow I was just going to complain about the 30 degree weather and rain here in Houston this morning! Guess it could be worse huh? Getting ready to head out to work in this mess. Hope the Grom handles ice on the road pretty good. I'll probably be ice by the time I get to work. This will officially be the coldest nastiest day I have ever rode my Grom in. Not really looking forward to this.......

not me, man. not me.

The front blew through here yesterday and it was cold, rainy, and VERY windy. Yet Josh Herrin (Moto2 rider) was still out there blasting around the track. Yeah, no thanks. My Grom stayed put in the next garage over.

There are plenty of nice days coming, I'll stick to the car for weather like this :)

I did do a little riding on Wednesday though. I had to go test the timing system on the track. Yeah, that's it. Testing!

I did just finish an upgrade and reconfiguration. Do I need to test my work by taking laps on the Grom? No. Do I anyway? Yes.

I use my car to get to and from work. I use my Grom at work, since the equipment I have to maintain is spread all around a 1200+ acre campus. As long as it's dry I'll ride, even down into the upper 30s. If whatever needs working on isn't time critical (no event for several days) then I'll let it wait for better weather, because the journey to the work is only half the battle. If I can avoid having to sit in the cold mud fixing something, I will.

Daily rider in any weather (seen 14º so far).

No mods to speak of except winter tyres for the snow and ice. About 30minute ride each way. I do all my shopping at the local stores so I do not have any luggage sollution for it except small backpacks.

I live less than a mile from my shop, so I ride the Grom as often as possible. Really makes a nice commute out of the morning. I take the long way home and tack on a few extra miles when time permits and it's a good way to forget the stress of the day. Just got some bungee cords so I can secure take out food or a bag of groceries if the wife requires such.

Don't have any racks or boxes on mine. But I just picked up this sweet backpack from transpack that has pockets on the outside for ice skates or rollerskates. There's extra room in the inside for other gear or groceries. And I liked the island print.

Black Bag Product Hand luggage Diaper bag

Got to admit though that backpack will stink in the rain. Maybe I need to get a rack...

8 years of motorcycle only commuting and I don’t see me stopping any time soon and that is the reason I got the Grom ! My other bike is a 2008 ZX-14 and 5 quarts of oil per change $200 for just the front brake pads and $200-$300 per tire 2-3 times a year was just getting ridiculous especially since 90% of my ridding is in the city 35-55mph the Grom is a much more economical commuter not to mention the Grom pays for its self with the money im saving on maintenance for the ZX-14!!!!

I am a fair weather fan... when 70+ dry weather hits I would like to ride my grom regularly. Practically, I would like to cut into the $80/week in gas that goes through my truck but in reality I am looking forward to starting/ending my work day with a smile!
