Just a warning there are people in this world that like to just do stupid stuff like pour sugar in your gas tank or come out drunk at some college frat party and get dared by their college friends to piss in a gas tank of a car/truck/motorcycle if there is no lock on the cap.
True that. I really just hate that you have to taki it completely off the bike and put it on the ground when I'm filling up. And this grom won't be parked in public to much unless at a car/bike show. But my commuter grom I will keep the locking cap.
I would but I'm running pro tapers with the bar pad and I don't want to scratch up the dash cluster and I also don't wanna risk it sliding off and getting all banged up
I ride just to ride. Not for errands or to look cool parked in front of starbucks(Harley guys). When I park my grom it'll always be in my sightsIf you're ever in my neck of the woods, I "will" steal your gas.

Im not really sure what you're trying to say. Who said I was "worried"? What I am doing is building a race bike and I would like a gas cap that doesn't need a key. Preferably one similar to the Vortex one. I had one of their's on my 600RR track bike and it was awesome. The OP asked his question over 6 months ago and nobody has answered it in all that time. Pretty surprising considering all of the aftermarket parts that are available.
Oh a race bike! well heck no you don't want the key style gas cap! 1000 apologies coming your way, initially I envisioned a stock Grom going back and forth to school,grocery store,work,play etc.i should have kept my mouse shut.
That probably would have been better.
