I spent most of Saturday & Sunday removing the Kitaco i-Map fuel controller, which was wired into the harness with solder, so it wasn't that easy. I got it to work fairly well, once I had grounded the O2 sensor wire. It would not, however, effect the map @ 80% / 100%, no matter what I did. I have a good relationship with Dynojet, so they allowed me to purchase a Beta version of the Grom PCV with Autotune. To date, they had not worked with the Autotune add on, instead trying to allow the PCV system to control the fuel with just the internal map. With the 170 displacement, that's not an option for me, as no 125 or 133 map will provide enough fuel. The PCX150 fuel injector is working well, so I programed the Autotune target field from 12.8 to 13.9 /1, depending on the load & rpm. This next week should be warmer, so I'll get some testing in. The latest word is that the PCV will be out in about a month. I'll feed back what I observe with the Autotune to their engineering dept. Dynojet is a quality company, I know that they want to get this Grom unit right.

How do you know this? Are you watching a wide band while running the bike?
yes , i have been riding and trying to tune it in using a wide band ! A/F is very sporadic between 5000 and 7000 rpm and i am finding hard to keep the A/f ratio within my bounds across the broad .

i am going to try ground the stock o2 sensor out , after some advice from grom1202!

I installed an Imap from the Honda Lead 110 into my Grom Saturday, it has only a 10k rev limit on all the switches, currently running on the #3 switch for intake/exhaust

My girlfriend is a manager at the local Harley dealer so I'm trying to see what kind of discount I can get for dyno time to test the switches, regular cost is $85/hr which isn't bad when you consider most places charge $50-60 for only 3 pulls

Latest DynoJet Grom Beta Version PCV & Autotune Data

Guys,
The weather has cooperated for the last week. I have been able to get about 30 miles in, although most of it was ridden with thermal underwear on.
I’m on the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] revision of the PCV Honda Grom map. I’m running from idle to WOT in a range of 12.8 / 13.9 to 1.
It appears that the Autotune is the KEY to the problem.

Below is a list of the Grom engine combination at this point:
2014 Honda Grom
SRD Kick Ass 170cc big bore kit
Honda PCX150 fuel injector, +25/+35 greater fuel flow
Stock camshaft
Stock cylinder head
Stock throttle body
Modified air box ( radius entry, mesh removed )
SRD tuned exhaust system, Cone Eng. Muffler, 5500/6000 torque peak
Daytona Systems wide band O2 sensor.
Honda EFI oem O2 sensor wire grounded to the chassis ground
Compression approximately 10/1
16 / 36 final gearing, measured / accurate 60mph reached sitting up

Once I have a finished map, at least at this point, the engine will get converted to the modified & ported Grom head and ram induction system that SRD built for this bike.

Guys, I can’t find anything wrong with this set-up

The combination of the PCV & the Autotune works.

Brian,

I noticed you opted to use the stock cam. Were you seeing issues with the aftermarket offerings?

Sent from my iPad using HondaGrom.net
Wondermuscle is using a crower in his setup with no reported issue

My guess is he's getting a solid baseline before throwing parts on it

Good and bad news here. Seems like now PCV is mandatory for this kit. All of us who have invested in EJK or Bazazz will have issues
They're all tuners, if tuned on a dyno they all should be able to modify the afr enough into a safe range, the PCV and bazazz will probably do better but other than ignition control and rev limit setting, you shouldn't see much difference in the two, HOWEVER the PCV is priced at $300 which is the same as bazazz so it's honestly a better deal
