I recently installed an Endurance lightweight flywheel into my 2018 Grom and have noticed at idle, my headlight appears to be flickering. The flywheel was the earlier Mitsuba part used up to 2015, and my 2018 Grom used a Denso part originally for the stator/flywheel. Has anyone mixed/matched these parts with success or do I need to replace my stock flywheel (or retrofit the old stator).
We played around with the lightweight flywheel and found that we had more problems with them esp with BBK kits 170-181 and above, we ended going back to stock flywheel, less problem.
Swapped the stocker back in and problem is gone. I did notice that the cover plate between the flywheel and one way bearing was still stuck on the original flywheel, but I doubt that single shim would have made a difference in the charging system.
