Exhaust Gasket

I lost track of mine in the dirt so I fashioned a home made exhaust gasket out of a small crumpled ring of aluminium foil. Works great! :) The foil conforms to completely seal the joint and it lasts. If you remove the exhaust simply make a new one. Cost: NOTHING :)

Foil gaskets?

And you expect them not to leak?

It's scary to think how else people cheap out on their bikes.

If you're in a pinch and you want to make a gasket that'll last the week until your Honda gasket comes in - sure, have fun. Otherwise gaskets are cheap. Do the right thing. Yes, they are a PITA to get out, but it's rare you have to change an exhaust gasket. At the very least use exhaust gasket material if you insist on making your own.

Nope they dont' leak. You don't believe it works only because you never used one.

Foil is 100% aluminum with a melting point of 1,221 degrees... FAR hotter than your exhaust will EVER get. It conforms easily to make an excellent seal and costs nothing. :)
