I'm constantly running into trouble with moisture in my oil. My dipstick gets covered in this yellowish sludge and it's also coated all over the sides.

My regular mechanic doesn't seem too worried, and I'm also not too concerned however it's quite an annoyance and something that can cause problems later on down the road.

I've been told to ride long enough to get it up to full operating temperature and burn it off but that hasn't helped. I ride long distances daily.

Any suggestions on how to stop this?

I have the same issue. My honda dealership said its fine and pretty much normal with air cooled engines. Also said about running it longer but sadly my journey to work is fairly short. If your too worried then just do earlier oil changes than you normally would to flush it through more often.

Anywhere from 20-50 mile trips a day. I just did a 150 mile round trip the other day. I'm definitely riding for long enough distances that it should "burn off." I've also changed oil multiple times.

I just don't know what else to do other than clean it out every couple days.

Its not too big of a deal, I had an old VW beetle that did it during the winter I just did oil changes more often and was told the same thing about air cooled engines when its really cold.one thing you could try is ride your bike around get it nice and warmed up and remove the oil dip stick so the steam can get out.

Water in the oil

Guys,
When I started the 170cc kit, I did a complete review of the stock bike. I have a thermocouple mounted in my Grom's drain plug. I road the bike for 25 miles, all through the rolling hills around West Bend, WI, and I never got the oil sump temps over 204'F. Around town it never goes over about 175'F. Perfect oil temperatures are in the 220/240 range. I need to know, because I didn't want the 170 Grom to have oil temp problems. I wanted to see, if it needed a cooler. So, change your oil out more often. I tend to do it every 1000 miles on my other bikes. I would do the Grom at 500 miles, no filter, and ball bearing. The spinner is not really a filter, it's an extra flywheel, because it's a single.

I have had the same problem on my MSX since day one.
I change the oil every 500 miles and every ride is at least 30 minutes long (80% of that is WOT).
The oil doesn't get contaminated, it just seems to be moisture in the crankcase..

I've noticed the little clear nub in the airbox (shown above) collects a bit of water, as it's supposed to. I notice it's full after a few rides, takes 10 seconds to slip it off and dump it. The oil in mine looks fine despite a bunch of rides in cold weather.
