If you are on the fence about doing this it's a must. Changes the entire look of the bike. Here is a side by side Pic of my two monkeys. I've ordered another set up for my Yellow bike.

Totally agree with you, that the Asian variant trumps the US spec, though just in case you’re not aware, our Classic tail is far cleaner yet (just our opinion obviously...)

yeah these are 100x better than the us spec'd lights. I assume you got them from ebay? Thats the only place I've seen them, but I can't justify the price they currently are listed for. Hopefully they start to come down or maybe someone in the US can import some.
That looks really really good. No idea why they made them different in UK vs US?
US dot regulations - total visible area of brake light, light output, reflectors, space between blinkers and rear lamp, size of blinkers etc...

Can't be bothered to look it up but I'm fairly confident that is why - the smaller LED EU and asia spec'd lights don't pass the requirements for on road bikes here in the US. Happens all the time with import vehicles.

So what is the possible liability if someone rear-ends you while using the Euro-spec tail-light.

Don't really think anyone would give a fvck or realize it.

Just wondering if an insurance company can weasel out of liability because of not DOT spec lighting?
Completely overthinking it......

How would they know? Are your going to tell them? Logically anything you do to your car outside of manufacturers specifications (including tint) would be considered a liability to your car insurance......

What would happen if the tree air fresher flew out and stabbed a bystandard in the eye?

Oh, they are shaped like big arrowheads aren't they.
Dinoone,
Where did you get them. The only place I saw was eBay and it's really expensive and you need to buy the taillight and the "winkers" as separate items which brings it up to about 500 bucks... Ouch!
Overthinking a fuck... When I crashed with triumph, the insurance did check my bike even if crash were my fault. Thanks God I didn't installed the 190 55 17 not homologated rear Tyre.. Otherwise I were really fucked. If they check your bike and you have certain stuff unhomologated... Insurance pays first then revenge on you next. If you live in Europe. Or do you think thousand euros payed for tuv homologation of modified vehicles are a joke. People mediumly keep bikes stock because they aren't able to get what they can do or not... On my own I risk with any bike.. But I'm also fully aware if they get me.. I'm fucked

First lot I did There are vendors that offer complete kits including the led flasher for under $500 but it is still pretty expensive.

I ordered from HRP motors. Haven't gotten it yet so not sure how complete it is but is was around 400.
Just arrived. Anybody know if the base gasket is the same for US and Euro?
I ordered a set from HRP Motors yesterday. He's in Israel. I opted for the expedited shipping (it was about $15 more)
