Thanks! Love sharing knowledge learned, this was my first time attempting anything to this degree.Cool stuff. I wish I was closer to you to watch and learn!
Is the circled spot in the Koso piston a casting defect?
Neo head is 30/24.5 using a high lift cam like Dcr2, was able to get full rotation turning by hand with no resistance. Intake valve barely kisses 170 piston, I'm almost certain the DHM head would clear just fine.Hey dubSolo, if you would have used your DHM head (assuming it is a Intake 27mm/Exhaust 23mm), would you still have to cut valve reliefs in the piston? How did you cut them? What is that device with the crank handle?
No Worries blast away,,, hard to do by hand and still keep the edges perfectly square. Thanks buddy. I know I’m always blasting you with questions.
I didn’t know there was such a device to file rings. I figured everyone did that by hand.
I’m starting to like the idea of a Koso 170cc 2-valve with a DHM 27/23 head.
Neat. Sounds good. I haven’t seen you on here in a while. I’ve been coming and going myself. 84mph...talk about having no trouble keeping up with highway traffic. Very nice. Not much really only 101miles on new set up all under 11,000 Rpm. Have run both neo and tb cam. Currently waiting for David to send me one of his cams to see if it clears a neo head.
Can easily hit 84mph with gear ratio 2.40 but recently switched to ratio 2.25. Have a Crush the Coast ride coming up and that route will give the opportunity to see what she's got.
Thanks! The bike looks great man, and good job on the rearsets. How's the 170 treating you?
I was happy with my 170 2v until my friends built their 170 4v motors, now they're eating my lunch in the top end. I can't go 4v because the head will hit my front tire, and I like my lowrider grom too much to raise it back up.Thanks!
Definitely not regretting it, very well rounded on performance.
