Seems like the current moderators/administrators have left this forum for dead as of late. Plenty of spam getting through the filters to the forum.

Why not pick some long term active members that are forum savvy, make them moderators, and let us self moderate this forum. Or make signing up tougher by asking a couple questions about Groms to weed out the undesirables. Something has to be done. The amount of spam is equating to the Covid virus. Spreading like crazy...

The new forum layout is awful.
I messaged to suggested a more familiar / older / usable layout but the forum administrators have their own agenda.
Apparently a user friendly layout for the members is not possible, and the upgrade which can accommodate the advertisement banners is the way forward.

After logging today for the first time in a month - I have had enough.
Thank you for the advice and support, for the honest vendors selling good gear, and for the member who exported the EFIE to me from USA to Europe.

I may pop back every now and again to see if the forum is as bad as I remember
Cheers

This is a free site that is advertiser driven. I get that. I have no problems with the adds that skirt the forum on the various pages I bring up. Yeah, I get that it is free to use once registered.

My complaint stems from users that sign up and make it through the sign up vetting process. I really do not remember what vetting takes place to sign up. My apologies. The end result is spam littering the forum due to the less than ideal sign up procedure. It needs tightened up. Or am I off base here?

Additionally, there is a remote possibility that the administrators are allowing these posts through on purpose. With what is going on right now, I really believe that ANYTHING is possible in this day and age. I hope I am wrong.

I am not asking in no way, shape or form to be a mod. Although I would entertain the idea if asked. It takes a considerable amount of work (time) to do so, as I am sure most of you are aware. Many mods would spread out the house cleaning chores.

Or is it time to jump ship & start another Grom Forum? ?‍♂

Manually ignore the spammers. This takes them off the new posts since last visit page.

I think admin is MIA. I asked to be removed from the member list last week and I'm still here. There is no option to self delete and I'm not keen to simply abandon a login.
The site went to crap before the toilet paper shortage, so there's no way to clean it up now.

I sent them a private message on Sunday asking them to clean up his mess. Don't know if it helped or not. You mght PM him and give him a list of spammers.

I sent VSAdmin a PM a while ago too. The forum will keep getting spammers. We need to promote someone to mod to handle them regularly. I volunteered, just to deal with the spam. I was a mod on Mazda3Revolution, so I’m familiar with the Tapatalk mod options.

Keep tagging him so that he gets these notifications.

Hi, all! Please allow me to respond to your concerns.

VerticalScope staff members that normally work in a central location have been working from home at a reduced capacity. Of course, this particular forum was without guidance long before COVID-19.

When I joined this forum about a year ago, I immediately noticed the lack of moderation. As an admin, mod, and member of other VerticalScope forums, I volunteered to take on this forum as well.

I'm no longer a Grom owner and I can't read every post in every thread, but I try to log on to the site multiple times per week and respond to reports. If you see spam or any other post that is in violation of this site's Terms of Use, PLEASE report it and I WILL take care of it.

The Terms of Use can be found by clicking here.

The most common violations I see on forums can be found under the Internet Etiquette and Submissions sections of the Terms of Use. Specifically,

"Users should be considerate of the expectations and sensitivities of others on the network when posting material for electronic distribution.

You may not:

 • Use the Web Site to instigate or encourage others to commit illegal activities or cause injury or property damage or interfere with business interests or contractual relations of any person.
 • Use the Web Site to post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane or indecent information of any kind, including without limitation any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, provincial, national or international law.
 • Use the Web Site to post or transmit any information, software or other material that violates or infringes upon the rights of others, including material that is an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right, or derivative works with respect thereto, without first obtaining permission from the owner or rights holder.
 • Use the Web Site to post, transmit or in any way exploit any information, software or other material for commercial purposes, or that contains advertising.
 • Use the Web Site to advertise or solicit to anyone to buy or sell products or services, to cease using the Web Site, to visit another competing Web Site, or to make donations of any kind, without our express written approval."
Basically, this means no personal attacks, no photos/videos/discussion that might encourage others to break the law, no foul language, no unauthorized advertising or spamming, and no uploading of copyrighted materials (such as service manuals).

The new forum layout is awful.
All forums owned by VerticalScope have or will be migrating from vBulletin or other forum software to XenForo to bring consistency across the board. While each forum can be "fine tuned" to better accommodate a specific community, the fundamental operations remains the same.

Additionally, there is a remote possibility that the administrators are allowing these posts through on purpose.
There is NO possibility of this. Unauthorized advertising is a violation of the Terms of Use. Unauthorized advertising generally comes in the form of spam, but can also come from legitimate members who use this site to advertise their own products or services without being a paid vendor.

I asked to be removed from the member list last week and I'm still here. There is no option to self delete and I'm not keen to simply abandon a login.
There is no "deregister" option on VerticalScope forums - you simply stop visiting the site and logging on if you no longer want to use it.

Looks like @VSAdmin or someone came in and cleared out DonaldGreen spam posts, but there’s a bunch of other spam bots left.
You're welcome!

Please continue to report all spam posts you see by selecting "Report" from the three-dot menu. Every time I log on, I see the reported posts take the appropriate action.

Unfortunately, the hits (spammers) just keep on coming.
For some reason, this particular forum gets more spam than any other VerticalScope site that I'm on. I suspect it may be because this site appeals to a more international audience.
