I've been a part of the forum for a while now and had my grom since august but never started a build. I figure it's about time since I have a nice stash of parts to install. I've done a few mods already but I'm nowhere near close to done.

Just installed my Corbin seat, still havnt gotten any miles on it. The fit was not perfect so I started to freak out cause I spent $300+ on this thing lol. The seat would line up but the pin on the bottom seat that latches into the locking mechanism was not long enough to hold the seat. Before I ranted on here I checked the Corbin website and there it gave me a few tips on fitting the seat. They stated some seats might need a washer or two in order for the latch to grab. One washer under each bold holding the locking pin fixed this issue for me and now it fits perfectly. They also recommend lubing up the rubber stoppers and tongue on the bottom side of the seat with a little bit of WD-40 cause it will be very snug until it's broken in.

How do you like the seat? Was it worth the $$$? Did you get leather on the top and sides?
It's super comfortable, I can ride all day without thinking about it now. Yes it's leather on the top and sides but it's a little slick compared to stock. But I definitely think it's worth it.

By any chance do you know if the Corbin seat will work with a seat cowl? I'd really like to get one of the seats but I'm not willing to get rid of the seat cowl. Thanks.

Honestly I don't think it would, the Corbin seat is a little bit wider in the rear. I've never tried it though, it might fit.

Has anyone plasti-dipped their composimo stretch? That's what I have done here. I'm not sure if it'll hold up when reinstalling the wheel/ tightening the chain slack.

I had mine powder coated...i also filed the inside the swing arm a little to get any metal burrs, it still scratched a little on the install. So start in the longest position you think you want and go shorter from there that way if it peals it a little it will be on the inside of the swingarm

So powder coated works?! It's not too thick? I was under the impression it needs to be done with something that didnt make the stretch thicker so it could still fit in the swing arm?!
