bar end removal help!

I was trying to remove the bar ends so I can install some crg arrow bar end mirrors. I was planning on installing them with the adaptors but when I finally removed the bar end screws I am in able to get the adaptors in because the plug in the bars that the stock bar ends screw into are in there.

How do you remove this? Is it just a matter of getting a puller and pulling it out or do I have to drill it out?

Any idea how to get the plug out that is pressed or welded into the end of the handlebars? I removed the Phillips screw easily with a small electric impact, but the plug that stock bar end screws into needs to be removed for my mirror. Maybe just peel the grip back and get a good set of pliers on it to work it loose?
My mirror actually has its own plug that goes into the handlebar and then spreads out and tightens down when you screw the mirror in. So I either need to remove the stock plug or order new mirrors :/
I thought about that, but I would have to grind off or turn down the stud on the mirror stub that I have so it will sit flush against the honda plug. I have a lathe, but it's a nice mirror so I will just put it aside for another time. So I scrapped that idea and I'm looking to pick up a Rizoma bar end towards the end of the week. Motovation is going to test fit some on their Grom and they have a couple different sets in stock.
Sit flush against the Honda plug? I used washers to space my mirror out from the plug inside the bar. Took 3 from my memory
Aahhh yeah I could have done a spacer, but I want the mirror to extrude as little outside the grips as possible. It's nice to still be able to push the Grom through doorways or tight passages if need be.

I'm thinking I will just upgrade to a mirror or two like these: Universal Mirrors by Rizoma Bikes Accessories -
Dang I didn't even see that little welded spot on the bottom! Thanks for sharing as this will be a huge help for anyone wanting to do bar end mirrors with the stock bars :)
