Hey everyone. I posted a while back looking to trade my girlfriends BMW G310R because she loved her Grom much more. Well since then we sold the g310, found a killer deal on a 2022 ABS Grom and started upgrades. I have a KTM 390 but sometimes prefer the feeling of ‘Gromming’, so as I can here and there have been getting on the Grom and miss it. So much I put my name on a list for a monkey at my local dealer. 😜
The deer and wildlife don’t hear the Grom coming so I decided to cop a $96 eBay exhaust. I am surprised how decent it is. No bracket welded to pipe for support but it does come with one that I plan on welding on eventually.
Speaking of deer... I ride in areas full of them. Even when I ride up on them with a loud exhaust and they're in that "frozen" state in the middle of the road watching you baring down on them, just staring at you coming... I found the best thing to do is sound the horn repeatedly. They seem to be tuned into that OEM "meep meep" frequency and it makes them snap out of their daze and quickly bound off.

Yep, a red 4 speed. After discovering how much I liked the Grom in it's 5 speed form I figured the Monkey will be just as fun.
I wish the Dax would be offered in a 5 speed with a clutch but I'll temper my expectations and enjoy that model for what it is when it gets announced for the US.
My larger bikes are languishing but the Mini Moto's are just so fun to jump on and ride. I'm fortunate to be surrounded by multiple towns connected by low speed rural roads.

I'm kind of in the same mindset as you were. I had a 2018 Grom I sold a few years ago. Got a 390 KTM ADV but have regretted selling my Grom. Going to be getting a 2023 soon. Like you stated, sometimes you just feel like Gromming. Since I'm considered a senior citizen these days, minis are a lot more attractive than big heavy bikes.
