I bought an armored shirt from sixsixone a few months ago, despite reading some negative reviews on the stitch quality. I got a good deal, so I rolled the dice. Turns out, the reviews were dead on. I'm not sure about the quality of everything else they make, but the shirt is crap. Every single seam is ripping. I feel like the next time I pull it off I'll look like Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania, ripping the shirt right in half. So now I'm looking for a replacement, and I've narrowed it down to the Knox Venture and the Dainese Hybrid. The Knox looks a little more refined, but the the Dainese looks more protective. Anyone have first hand experience with either one? Recommendations? Should I look at something entirely different?

I already have a great Joe Rocket/HJC jacket. I just like to wear the armored shirt under a sweater/pullover most of the time. Sort of a low profile look. I've searched eBay and haven't found the right deal yet. Really was looking for others input into quality, since sixsixone clearly isn't a quality shirt.

Just curious. Why the armored shirt when you can just buy perforated leather? It's almost the same price. If you shop long enough, you can probably find a good deal and considering it's winter weather in a lot of areas, there will be sales.

The perf leather I've come across is way heavier and doesn't let the air flow nearly as well. Also, I like not having a jacket to take on an off. I can wear the armor under a sweater and walk into places not looking like I just got off a bike.

Well after crashing a few days after putting this post up, I've analyzed where I went bump and have definitely decided on something like the Alpinestars Bionic 2, along with some padded/armored under pants (Troy Lee?) I also got a bump on my ankle because I didn't wear boots, so I'm correcting that with some Dainese Forge.

Not liking your post cause you crashed. Just glad you figured out what to upgrade.
No problem, that's how I took it. Does the jacket fit pretty true to size? I'm a medium in shirts and jackets most of the time. Revzilla has it for $199.95, but I found it for about $165 on eBay. My only issue with eBay is it's tougher to exchange if it doesn't fit. I'm leaning towards spending the extra $35 just to deal with a good company like Revzilla.

Still no word from mechanic/insurance adjuster on the Grom repairs (checking back with them tomorrow), so still researching new gear. I figure it'll be next week before I get it back, so I'm not in a huge rush to order. Kept looking on Revzilla and now I'm torn between the Alpinestars Bionic 2 and the Alpinestars BNS. Anyone know if the the BNS jacket is worth the extra $250? My Joe Rocket Atomic jacket didn't provide any kidney protection, and had I landed a little differently it wouldn't have done much for the shoulder. I took a shot to the chest from something, and no padding in the JR meant I'm still bruised up there. Suggestions? Is there something else entirely I should be considering?
