We are getting setup with this company that offers a Speedo corrector for the Grom.

You basically program is to adjust your speed to CORRECT Speeds.

Example: Currently your
Bike shows 65 ..... TRUE Speed 60 ..... Then your Correction is -7.7%

Then you would program it to -7.7% and it would correct your speedo to show 60 at 60 mph

Q: How do you do this..?

A: 3 options
Temporarily mount a GPS system on your bike that reads m.p.h. and compare 60 mph on your gauge to TRUE Reading on GPS.
or
Follow another vehicle with a known accurate speedometer. Most late model automobiles with stock wheels and tires are accurate within 1%. Have them drive 60 mph and you follow behind and see what your speedo shows
or
Use a motorcycle dyno. They have very accurate speedometer readings.

Details:

  • The smallest electronic speedometer/odometer calibration device in the world.
  • Works perfectly by itself OR with a pc3, pcv, bazzaz, or any other fuel controller or gear indicator.
  • Priced below any competing product on the market
  • Easier to setup than any other device on the market
  • Allows speedometer correction in 0.1% steps, up to 99.9% + or -
  • Saves max speed, which can be recalled to your stock speedometer gauge
  • Simple plug-in installation for many vehicles using factory OEM connectors
  • Works for vehicles which display MPH or KPH
  • Ability to convert MPH to KPH, or KPH to MPH
  • 3 year product replacement warranty
  • Fully PLUG-n-PLAY

From the factory the MPH is off a little.

If you have changed the Size of your tire... Like most of us.. Then Your speedo will be off.

If you have changed your Gearing (Sprocket sizes).... Then Your Speedo will be off.

I don't see how this works. your speedo says 70 but you're really going 65 so you program it to display 5mph less. What if you are only going 5mph, will it now show 0mph cause you programmed it to be -5mph?

Sorry, we didn't word that correctly.
It's based off Percentage difference.

Better example: Bike shows 65 ..... TRUE Speed 60 ..... Then your Correction is -7.7%

Price would be the determining factor for me, you can already buy speedo healers for $120+ and is the reason I won't buy one

Around $69-$70

goodies just keep coming! It would be nice to know exactly how fast with all the varying sprocket combinations and slight tire size variations.

It would be great to see a plug-and-play tech/price bundle with the gear indicator. I would buy one.

Unfortunately, they don't offer Volume pricing.
It's pretty much same price from 10-100 qty.

BUT.. we have added it to our website.

If anyone wants one. > SPEEDOMETER Correction Device <

Should have them in our hands in 2-3 days.

With our bike having a 140 Rear (larger diameter) and now a 16t FRONT ... the speedo is like 7-8 mph too slow.

So at 68-69 on the dash, we are actually doing 74-75 mph on GPS.

Good way to get a ticket. ;-)

The local police here always have a little radar trailer to display your speed on a road between my home and work. Very handy for all the sprocket changes I went through, although they tend to encourage top speed runs :)
LOL....I'm sure this is exactly what they intended that to be used for! I'd love to be the officer you try explaining this method to after your WOT pass. I'd give you a reward for thinking outside the box!

I already ordered but I guess I should ask how do you enter the correction factor into the unit?
.

Its pretty easy.
You basically just program it with a single button.
It's got a Flashing LED light that tells you what your doing.

Pretty slick and easy.

We will try and do a quick video when we get our hands on it.

Directions should be clear to understand though.
