Any tips for a new monkey owner who has never broken in a new bike? is a magnetic drain plug or something to attract the metal shavings a good idea for a new monkey owner to have the dealership install. i think i heard about something like that on a video but I can't recall the details.

This is how I have done it over the years
1. Always bring up to normal operating temp.
Go through a complete heat cycle ( full expansion and contraction
( don’t ride three minutes to your friends and let it cool then ride another 5 min)
Avoid cranking to wide open throttle and slamming shut
Smooth on/off
Gradually increasing rpm ( don’t redline ) for a 100 miles
Shift through the gears often and vary your rpms
Don’t ride three hundred miles at the same throttle position just to break it in
Vary your rpm and row through the gears

I didn't think about completing the hole heat cycle. makes a lot of sense
