I've been following the forum for months now and have not seen any major problems with the Grom. Has anyone had a major engine problem or other system failure? I know about some vibration at idle, rusty chain, wobbly tires at higher speeds with some bikes, but are there other common problems?

I've had my Grom for all of 5 days now and the one issue I've been having is getting to neutral. I've been told that it gets easier to find neutral once it breaks in more which seems to be the case but it sure was tough the first couple of rides...

Some bikes seem harder than others to find neutral. When I teach MSF courses it seems many students with new Harleys will struggle to find neutral. I'll bet as it wears it will get easier.

Rotella T6 is JASO MA rated though, meaning it should not make the clutch slip among other things. I use it in all my bikes and have never had a clutch slip. Automotive oil is fine so long as it is not "Energy conserving" or "high mileage" oil, they say. Of course if you want to pay 2-4 times more for a picture of a motorcycle on the jug, that's OK. If I ever had a clutch slip though, I would change to another brand too, but I have used Rotella T6 in 12 motocycles now with no problems.

When you're riding try to find neutral before you come to a complete stop. It seems to help a bit.

Finding neutral is very hard in some bikes, and my Grom is about average. As you probably know it helps to find neutral while you are moving slowly either by going up from 1st or down from 2nd.
