I don't want to mod my air cleaner, and I've passed the 1,000 mile mark to discard it and put in a new one. Is it possible to use back the same one if it's not too dirty, or can you clean it? If not, where can you get the genuine honda replacement element to buy online?

Also, Is it difficult to clean the Crankcase breather? Do you have to remove the plastics?

Thanks for your help guys!

Unless you're riding off road or dirt roads with dusty conditions I don't see it necessary to replace it already. It shouldn't be all that dirty riding on tar only 1000 miles. But you can find them on Babbitts honda. I think their shipping is pricey so if you need anything else.. Gaskets.. Crush washers.. Buy several of each like I did. I don't think we're allowed to post links though.

Thanks monster, the service manual said change at 1,000 miles, but I'm at around 1,800. I'll check and see how dirty it looks, but like you said it should be ok from riding on tar. I'll also check out babbits honda.

The air filter (cleaner) can be checked every few thousand miles. The service manual recommends replacing it at 10,000 miles, not 1,000.

If you can see moisture in the clear plastic piece sticking out of the bottom of the air box it's time to clean the breather. You have to remove the side plastics to get to it.
