So I am trying to decide between getting a motorcycle jacket this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846
Or getting Yoshimura carbon exhaust Amazon.com: Yoshimura RS-9 Full System - Carbon Fiber Muffler - Carbon Fiber End Cap , Color: Carbon, Material: Carbon Fiber 121200H220: Automotive
let me know what would be smarter I'm thinking the Jacket for safety but exhaust would be cool too I have money for one but not the other right now left from taxes.

Carbon exhausts sound better than aluminum pipes. That's my opinion and justification at least.

On topic: I think you get the idea that the jacket is a definite first option. Get some good pants while you're at it. Rhok makes some awesome albeit expensive pants. Jeans won't hold up worth shit in a crash. I speak from experience there. There are other cheaper alternatives as well.

I'm not completely sure. It sucks but women's gear is still pretty limited. I know one company (forget the name) makes men's pants with armor in them but they look identical to regular jeans. I've torn through enough regular jeans to learn some lessons though. I can't stress the importance of proper gear enough though. Never know what's going to happen when you're out. I shouldn't be alive after my last wreck but I walked away with a sprained wrist and nothing broken because I happened to have my racing leathers and the rest of my gear on.

Edit: Just checked out motorcycle-superstore and they actually have a good set of pants to check out. Kevlar reinforcement is a good start to at least avoid the cuts. Armor would obviously be a better choice but sometimes it looks a little out of place.

Sounds like you need to visit your local Cycle Gear. There is one in South Draper. That will give you a better idea of what's available gear wise for a woman. Jeans are not very good protection. Cotton and asphalt dont mix. They only last a few feet during a crash.

My vote. Gear First. Always.

The jacket has perforated panels, so it should be pretty good for ventilation and warmer ride times. When I wear mine, I sometimes get cold cause it's like a mini fridge when the air is moving through it. On the other hand, if it doesn't work well enough in summer you could also try mesh fabric moto jacket. The fabric jackets are lighter so sometimes more bearable in the heat.

And seriously ALWAYS gear first.

For the bottom half, I wear overpants with armor - that are mesh and have liners for rain and cold. At first my husband teased me saying I look like the "hey koolaid" man. I don't really care and now he's gotten to appreciate that I wear it. If you want to look more attractive, get a pair of pants that aren't overpants - leather or reinforced fabric or jeans with armor - like dainese sells. They'll be more fitted.

Also I recommend trying on at a local store or at least ordering from a motorcycle store online. I've had to order multiple sizes from Cycle Gear to find the right stuff, because to be honest they don't stock the women's stuff I want in the store, even though there is plenty to offer now.
