who in the group has changed their Grom Stock tires to some other brand and for those that have the stock Grom tires how does it handle in the Hawaii's rainy weather?

I did notice in the video that the roads looked wet so wondering the grip of the tires in the rain going around sweepers, turns etc.
Thanks for any info.

Trying score a second Grom here so I can ship it to Hilo and have it there at my sister's or brother's house for use when I go home on vacation during the Xmas time frame or coming years.

Must suck to live out there lol
It does rain pretty often though! I dont think any of us really wanted to take the chance of really pushing it on our tires. Just hearing everyone elses stories about how bad the stock tires are, we played it safer than sorry. The only thing I can say from my experience is that even going over a white line in the rain I could feel it whip out a bit on the stock tires.

Tantalus ride looks fun! Too bad it wasn't dry. Didn't they pave the curves with rough stuff to discourage the drifters to go there? I wish still had the super ferry, would be so fun to ride with you guys.

Yea man they did pave the curves due to the drifters...it's all good for my bikes but I'm sure the cars are not too happy!

sucks to live in hawaii... really? they live in paradise!

:)
I grew up in Hilo Hawaii until I went into the Navy and became a ET which is a electronic technician and got out of the Navy after serving 6 yrs and landed a job in Silicon Valley, Sunnyvale area of Northern Calif. There would be no way I could have gotten a decent paying job in Hawaii like I did out here in Northern Calif. plus lots of Chicks for the local boy to go out on dates. If you live in San Jose this place is called Man-o-Jose since there is more men due to the high tech field and engineering field, lots of green card holders from Asia and India who will take the High tech jobs for low wages.

Things I really miss about Hawaii, fishing with out a fishing license, hunting, going out in the forest to get fresh fruits, flowers, melee vine, and other exotic stuff. I really miss the local chicks since they like to eat the same type of food as me and don't mind if my house smells like fish when I cook fish or make raw pu-pu/poki. Surfing there's no problem since I've surfed from under the Gold gate bridge to all the way down to San Diego OB, Blacks beach up north towards Huntington beach, etc. Unreal skiing if you are into skiing, I got out of skiing because it cost too much for lift tickets.

The only thing bad about Calif is the gun laws and such.

Good things are good riding roads all year long, lots of great restaurants from different ethic groups, great sports and concerts to go to.

Don't be fooled most Hawaiians when they go on vacation like to go to Vegas, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

If you like the local girl type style than you would go out with the Vietnamese chicks or Korean chicks in the valley and the hot chicks are the Iranians or Russian women which we have a lot of here. You meet them at the dance classes, Ball Room to Salsa Classes. If you like Spanish chicks there is a lot from Mexico, Bolivia, etc.

here is an example of Bolivian chick that I date, paradise is where you make it happen
