Since most of us don't live in Florida, that could explain it. I've got about 2k,but I share mileage with 10 other bikes. Keep it up I want to see how it holds up after 30K miles.

I wonder how long these engine with regular oil changes will last??? the old z50 ct motors use to get pretty sloppy.....you would very rarly see them with high miles?? either way the piston, rings and a quick valve job is cheap on theses...

They should last pretty well. One of the guys in the UK has over 12,500 miles on his MSX, most of that run with a mesh filter on a velocity stack and a modified monkey bike exhaust.
He hasn't reported any problems with the motor so far...

since there is no oil filter, changing the oil often is the way to do it. 1000 miles is a lot for 1 quart of oil...

I just turned 1850 miles, but I plan to do some riding soon. For Texas, this has been the coldest winter in the 11 years I've lived here, and I haven't taken long rides in a couple of months. I have started out on longer trips on several occasions, but get cold and turn back and end up riding just 10 min. or so.

They better last at least 30,000 miles. I got mine to commute with and have a 4 year loan haha. I plan on putting 5000 miles a year on it or more.
