I'm planning on upgrading my clutch plates with the Sex Machine Racing 6 clutch plate kit. I already have the Chimera lifter plate and Sex Machine clutch springs on hand. My question is do I need a special tool to remove the 14 mm Hex Nut or do I simply use a regular 14mm socket? I'm getting conflicting suggestions. Thank you in advance.

You might need a holder tool for the clutch basket to hold it in place while you take the nut off. I just use an impact wrench to run the nut off while holding the basket in place by hand. I use the holder tool when putting it back together, so I can torque the nut to specs.

Appreciate the input and I'll use my impact wrench for sure. Is there a specific holder I need to get?

Here is a link to the one I got from hardracing.com: CLUTCH/FLYWHEEL/STATOR TOOL PACK - Honda '13-'20 GROM / GROM SF / '19-21 Monkey 125 (HR-Toolpack) Hope this helps you.
OUCH!

HR Performance is mighty proud of their tools......
(Chinese made stuff most likely as well!)

here in Thailand the first 2 are available on Lazada or Shopee .....no Amazon here!.....yet)

Clutch Tool 79 Baht ($2 USD)

Flywheel Puller 120 Baht ($3.25 USD)

Flywheel holding tool 2 Baht ($.05 USD)

The last I just use a nickle in the gears to keep things from turning, works great!
(I drilled a small hole in it and stuck a zip tie loosely thru it so i don't forget to retrieve it!)

Save myself $80 plus Shipping Handling and Customs fees (about another $40-60 or so)
