Whats up guys, I went to a 14 then back to my 15 to check the rpm difference as alot of my riding is in the 45-50 mph range. It seems with a 15t I am turning a solid 6800 at about 49-50 mph. With the 14t at 53 indicated on the speedometer which would be about a true 49-50 mph, I am turning 7000-7100. I enjoy the 14t much more as my third and fourth pull much harder... but is the extra 2-300 rpm difference alot harder on the motor?

Just looking for some input as I know alot are running 14ts. I have an m4 exhaust and did the stock airbox mod, that is it.

Thanks, -G

Actually it'll be easier on the motor because it don't have to pull so hard.
I've just gone to a 14t and the bike feels so much better
The engine isn't straining so much

Is anyone running, a 13t and if so, is there any issues with clearances?

so, what are people doing with the rear. Because of what I do with the bikes, my first though was a 13 front and 37 rear.. :)

No, no interested in going fast - just want to accelerate as fast a possible.

My top speed was higher with my 14t even with speed correction, just turn higher rpms. I have my 15 on going to cruise a few fun spots l, see how it compares

I thought going 14 would make the it faster on the top end meaning increase in speed not decrease.

In theory, a 14T sprocket lowers your top speed. However, because it multiplies torque your actual top speed may stay the same or increase. Can you hit the rev limiter in 4th gear?

tbh I haven’t hit the redline (noob here so my apologies) on 4th gear but when I hit 62 I didn’t hit full throttle but I notice I was in the 7-7500 rpm. I will ride today and hit it again and pay more attention. While yes I wouldn’t mind more speed but if I get a bore kit my speed will increase so I’m torn at the moment. I do want a bit more acceleration but I do want to maintain a speed on 4th between 65-70 and keep that speed going for miles especially if I hit the highways

I want to get as educated as I can get so any advice/wisdom will greatly help this Army Veteran.

Same gearing from 2013 on as far as i know.
Were you tucked when you ran 62? Or sitting upright? How much do you weigh?

Good afternoon. Today I went 66mph, tucked in with some wind against me. I weigh 155. Today it felt like the engine was opening up. I’m at 411 miles in her with the following mods...

DingerBuilt ECU W/Dyno & Air Intake
Yoshimura RS mini full exhaust carbon fiber
Pro taper handle bars
1Fngr clutch & Break levers

Now I feel like 15 in the front but 35 in the back to get some acceleration but maintain my top speeds. I might put a bore kit just to increase to 181cc if I decide to do that later on. My focus is more on performance and be able to accelerate good (don’t need to be a level 10 but 6-7 is good). So my ? Is is a 15/35 sprockets would be better that way I don’t lose top speed but increase acceleration?

If your ecu will allow you to rev to 10k rpm I recommend 14T/36T sprockets. Not everyone agrees, but you should still be able to run 69/70 when tucked and the acceleration at lower speeds will be quite impressive for 125cc.

im a noob. But on fourth gear when I was going 66 it was like around close to 8k rpm. Seems like I can’t go to -10k on. 4th why is that If I may ask Nivelives?

You don't have enough power to push the stock gearing, changing sprockets multiplies torque at the expense of rpm.
