Has to be 40% or above here in Florida or me to take it serious, anything less and it's highly unlikely ill get wet.. It typically rains here between 4 and 7 but coming less frequent as summer is ending

I prefer not to ride in the rain but because this is Florida I carry ziplocks in all my backpacks just in case

I'm the same way. The percentage has to be pretty high for me not to ride. The funny thing about living here is it could be perfectly sunny here with 0% chance of rain and when I get close to work which is about 10 miles away it could be pouring and it still say 0% chance of rain lol. So it's a gamble everyday here.

Saturday we rode about 70miles one way toward the coast an you could watch the rain clouds form then rain in about a 1/4 mile radius, you'd hit it, pouring rain but still sunny an as soon as you got nice and soaked you're out the other side and everything is dry as a bone

Riding is purely recreational now for me. No more commuting and no more riding in the rain. Unless it is on my dirtbike then I enjoy it. To a point.

I hate to ride in the rain. It is much more dangerous on a motorcycle as I'm sure you know. The only time I do is if I get caught unexpectedly which has happened a dozen times over the last 3 years, but you lose a lot of traction and stability and visibility. I also have no rain gear and I spend HOURS cleaning up my bike after I get mud and grime up inside it. No thanks, no rain. Never rains here with a 10% chance. Needs to be 40%...but if your weather station/channel has a radar image, that never lies and you can tell if anything is headed your way.

Scooter and Grom in the rain no problem. It's either that or a bicycle for me and at least with a full face helmet you stay warm and cozy. My old heavy sport tourer I would not like to ride in the rain. And at least with riding the Grom it stays off the freeway, so less risk. Just ride slow like you're skiing on your bike. (I'd love to one day learn to ride dirt and maybe ice. Seems fun.)

Its raining here now, i'm going riding when i get home to see how bad the Vee tires are in the rain. Time for some burnouts..wish me luck..
Luck. It can be funny, but they let go kinda suddenly It's like racing in the rain, at 30mph they will slip and you don't get a whole lot of warning. At times it feels like the grip is normal, then WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Does anyone ride in the wet stuff? With any chance of rain my groms parked. How bout you guys?

the motorcycle gods have been very good to me... i have gone to work in up to 40% chance of rain i keep getting lucky! even if it rains it is on the east or north sides of houston. Southwest gets spared! Houston is a very large city!

the one time it began to sprinkle when going home, it stayed cleared until i got home. and then it started pouring!

I live in the Seattle area and if I didn't ride in the rain, I wouldn't ride much. I use my Grom to commute and will ride in light rain, but not the gully washers. It certainly looks better without that hideous rear fender, but your back will get wet riding it in the rain.

I drive it in the rain, no prob at all, not even with the airbox mod with the intake facing forward (no holes drilled). Only thing is the tires.. fun in dry situations but hell in wet imo.. gonna swap em before winter comes

So the tires are really that bad??? I'm really cheap so maybe I maybe I will wait till I get a nail in mine before I replace them - or switch out just for winter?

They are 98$ on sale but there is a coupon right now for another 5% off @ motorcyclesuperstore making them.

$93.08 - selling your stockers to another local grom to do burnouts!!!

You are really only paying ~$50 for a set!
