09challengersrts grom build thread new pics 9/26 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know a lot of people came from the ruckus scene and they may know me as 09speed3 but I recently just sold my ruckus and bought a grom. I don't want to go nearly as crazy as I did with the ruckus but its pretty easy to spend money on it lol. First thing I did when I brought it home was go into the garage and ripped off the ugly ass tail and made a license plate holder until I figure out which one i want and took the stock mirrors off.

First thing I ordered was some michelin pilot sc in a 140/70/12 and a 110/70/12 (will be swapping the 110 with a 120 because i dont like it.

Heres the rear michelin 140/70/12 tire. A tiny bit bigger than the stock 130/70/12

Then fast forward to today and got some of my packages in that I had been waiting for and spent most of the day installing the parts.
Heres a shity pic of all of it after i destroyed the boxes with excitment.

Heres some pictures as i was installing them.

Ok so I got my [email protected] filter in today and decided to take some pics of the process. I decided to get rid of the bracket everyone is bending using a dremel. Haven't taken it out yet still waiting for the Honda bond to dry.

Heres the [email protected] filter

Here it is with the sensor attached and figured it couldnt hurt to put some honda bond to have a good seal.

Didnt take a before pic but this is after the bracket is removed with the dremel

And this is the final product fits nice and snug and zip tied to make sure everything was in its place

Ok so I been waiting for my Relay harness to come in so i can have round 2 at the headlight install to make my Hid 2 layer projector work properly and ran into some issues alot of issues... First think I noticed is that the ballast needs 9v min to stay on and the stock headlight harness doesnt supply steady power and drops down to 6 volts... Then I needed 9v min for the angel eye part so that was a problem also.

So fast forward to today I got my relay harness in hooked it up to the hid and used the headlight source to the relay just as a switch basically and it still didnt have enough power it would just make the light flicker. So i planned ahead and bought a nice simple waterproof on/off switch and that solved the problem but then came the real serious issue.... Heres what the headlight on the grom looked like notice anything weird?....................................

So after getting pissed off I brought the Headlight in and inspected it and if u looked inside the headlight with a flashlight the cutoff was all wacked up so after disasembling the entire headlight I fixed it heres the final outcome

Back of the headlight weird looking lol

Just hid on

the cutoff (since its from thailand the cutoff is on the opposite side)

all wires tucked and secured

just angel eye on

both on

The white on the angel eye is ultra white and u really dont see the blue at all.

So all in all its been an experience but it would be a major pain in the ass to send this headlight back and wait for another one to come back.

So why did you keep the air box if you have the K&N on? Everything is looking awesome tho. Congrats
Hey the airbox actually has slots for the sidepanels to slide into to hold them on. If that wasnt the case it would of been off a long time ago . And thanks appreciate it.
