Take a 17mm socket or wrench and snug up the drain plug

As for the noise, give it a look over.. most likely something was left loose

I wonder if the crush washer needed replaced and it didn't happen? They usually last a while, but things can happen.

I usually replace my motorcycle oil drain plug crush washer every 12,000 miles did that on my Hayabusa, ZX6R with no oil leak or issue. Every oil change done at 4000 miles so on my third oil change a new crush washer is installed.

On the BrianS grom I have close to 9000 miles and I've done 3 oil change and used the same crush washer with zero oil leak. On my Finbro 183 grom I have close to 7000 miles and I've done 3 oil change with no crush washer replacement with zero issue oil leak.

That is why I do my own maintenance and such cause you are the only one that cares about your motorcycle, car, truck, the dealer motorcycle shops mostly care about the money they are going to receive.

Yeah, I use the same crush washer repeatedly, but, as I said, things can happen. Hopefully the plug was just a little loose.

Did you get these fixed? With the front end knock - loose steering head bearings?
I'm working on an '80 XT250 that would clunk when the forks were compressed, sure enough when I pulled everything down the bearings were a tiny bit loose, just enough for the stem to clunk around and the top bearing race to get beat up.

    Wink

With the ohlins kit it doesn't come with bottom out rubber for the 2017 model and the stock one cannot be used with the ohlins kit.

Most likely they they did not install a bottom out bumper "since you didn't supply one" so the bottom out washer is flailing about in there making a racket.
