Recently my husband, a co-worker and I went woods trail riding on our Groms after a rain. Yes it was muddy and yes we crashed haha. Definite Grom abuse.
I had knee surgery a few months ago and this was the first time I'd gotten out to be active...what a workout for my knee. The sand proved to be difficult, the bike basically went wherever it wanted to go and caused us all to crash at least once. Mud of course was difficult because of the limited torque/power to get through it. Maxxis M6024 tires did great considering the sandy, muddy terrain. I installed a full Ohlins fork setup and shock last weekend and it was INCREDIBLE. A lot of my camera's footage is me riding my husband's stock suspension Grom. He gave me the Ohlins setup for Christmas so I let him ride my Grom a while
I broke the video up into two parts because of the 20+ minute edited length. I am still working on part 2, but part 1 is posted and ready for your viewing pleasure. Hope you enjoy our struggle as much as we did!
The video jumps between all three riders.
White Lead Grom - Travis, Big Bore, Ohlins front, YSS shockYellow
Yellow Middle Grom - Stephen, stock
Yellow Last Grom - Chix, Ohlins all around
All have Maxxis M6024 tires
beyond cool, ride safe you all
thanks for sharing the video and photos
This is exactly the kind of light trail riding I am hoping to do with my Grom. Thank you for posting that video.
Installed some KLX bars today, can't wait to get out there again. Part 2 of the video series will be posted lunchtime this coming Thursday.
Part 2 is posted! Picks up where part 1 left off....in a nasty mud pit.
