Best bang for your buck is probably
    https://www.cameronjonesracing.com/h...-flash-service
    https://www.dhmotoring.com/product/stage1reflash
    or the Yuminashi replacement ECU
Piggybacks kind of suck on the grom. The stock ECU targets a certain AFR in closed loop. If you mess with the closed loop part of the map with a piggyback ECU the stock ECU will fight it. Then that effects the open loop part of the map. I don't have the best understanding of it or how to explain it but I think it's something like that.

Missing the top of the line and best ECU- Aracer, why waste your time and money, get the Aracer and be done.

I figure if you're just doing intake and exhaust you might not want to spend too much on an ECU.

I agree with this. If you're only going with an exhaust, intake, cam, or any combo of those three a flashed ECU is the way to go. I have a Dynojet PowerVision 3 with WBCX and it works OK, but I have no need for it. A flashed ECU would have worked just as well and saved me money.

Most Grom riders have no need for aRacer in which case it's a total waste of money. Also, if a person needs support from aRacer it's apparently terrible so you had better buy it from a place that will stand behind it and also help you learn it.

I just purchased a stage 1.2 kit from Cameron, he was super helpful and answered all my questions. The kit consist of an intake, exhaust, cam, and ecu reflash. Makes about 12.5 hp at the rear wheel vs 8 hp stock. The performance change from stock is drastic, the whole persona of the bike is different. It wants to be revved to redline now instead of struggling past 8k.

are you actually being serious? That's exactly what I want done lol. I already got the MNNTHBX air intake, as well as the Yoshimura RS2. So I kinda don't want all that. However, if it's making 12.5HP and it actually wants to hit redline, I'm happy haha! That's what I'm lookin for. People said the same thing about the WR250R Supermoto. I dumped $1000 in performance parts, and BARELY felt a difference. Went from bone stock to: Full No Toil Air Filter Kit, Full FMF Pipe, EJK Fuel Controller, 13-47 Sprockets (orginally at 13/43), etc etc. So I'm really hoping the grom will be different, even a little is fine.

So should I just flash my original ECU (or send in my old one) or should I get a PC5?

The reflash is better bang for your buck. If you're going to spend the money for a PC5 might as well spend a little more and get the Aracer mini5.
