Yeah it's strange that it's so difficult getting these aftermarket plates to work. Like doesn't seem to matter how I put the stock one on it works everytime but for whatever reason these just seem to be very difficult to get going..

Most auto parts store have loan a tool available, see if you can borrow one from them... Torque Spec Is Crucial when fucking with the clutch

when installing any aftermarket clutch basket or what ever in your clutch system, plates, springs, spacers, the main thing to remember is the bottom teeth on the basket and the clutch holder unit should be seating correctly or else you will have no clutch or a very hard clutch handle so look at your clutch height with the basket and all the plates/spacers and make sure it is flush with the basket, then everything else will fall in place if not you will crack your basket.

Good Luck and ride it like you stole it.

    Thanks,

But why does the clutch operate fine with the stock plate and not with the aftermarket one.. like if the basket was not correct wouldn't the clutch just not work all the time. Like it works alright with the stock plate doesn't slip

ensure your clutch lifter rod is fully seated back into the right side cover prior to putting the cover back on the case. We've seen this issue where it wasn't fully seated and when you put the cover back on it presses on the bearing and plate and disengages the clutch.

Photogromers right thumb is pointing right at the rod....
