From what I've read, it introduces more drag, so it has the potential to slow you down...?

Both my bikes are running the 428 kit from sprocket center. I installed one set last summer and have about 1000 miles on it now with the 428 kit. I didn't get the oring chain just the regular gold chain. I did a speed run before and after and got the same speed. And I haven't had to adjust it yet!

You need the 428 chain if you have a BBK.

D.I.D. 420NZ3 is stronger and better looking chain option, and no loss in power.

I stuck with the 420NZ3 chain as well, no o-ring. 428 chain would be slightly stronger than the 420 but not enough in my opinion to justify the additional 1/2 pound increase just from the chain alone, then you add the front and rear sprockets to that list it all adds up.

Also started out with the DID 420NZ3,,, I still had to adjust at least every two weeks, which was better than stock chain every 3 to 4 days...

Replaced the DID with a Renthal R1 420 chain, this chain came heavily waxed out of the package which the DID didnt (DID purchased from Sprocket Center)
Have had this Chain for two months this past weekend was the only time Ive adjusted and only did so cause I wanted to clean and re-wax it.

Not saying anything wrong with DID 420 NZ3, But for me there was a better difference going to renthal

Good to know, I've never ran a Renthal chain but I'll keep that in mind and take a look at them.

I went with a DID o ring chain, and I did notice the bike is not as fast.
