    Hi Johnny,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It seems like there is always one more thing to buy, THEN I’ll really notice a difference in performance. I was reflecting on the Brock’s YouTube videos, where he pretty clearly gains another 5 MPH top speed with a modded air-box, an exhaust, and a fuel controller. I was hoping to see similar results. Of course, he is a professional who knows what he is doing. At about $800 all-in for the Hindle exhaust and the ARacer, I am really hoping to see more than a 1 MPH (maybe) increase in top speed. Still more experimenting to do.

i do not understand the reference to the cylinder head temperature gauge in order to advance the timing. Can you elaborate?

by advancing timing, you are trying to increase power output. however, there's a risk of running hotter due to detonation so you need to monitor temps

The Oem ecu and aracer both run on +5v reference to oil temp sensor, however the aracer has different impedance (internal resistance) so the voltage differs. I have opmid and with Oem ecu at 89f yellow wire is at 2.6v. Same temp with aracer it’s 3.9v. My opmid reads 40f cooler then actual.

I tried playing with my variable resistor box and even tried some fixed resistor in line to opmid to lower voltage and initially looked like would work but not enough load. On the pc5 pod-300 you can set voltage to temp cross reference but not for aracer lol.

For now now I use the aracer app gauges and opmid + 40f. Maybe aracer will update app to show Fahrenheit in future. -88ff9ac5-3ac3-4488-bbdc-7b5a14e28e00.jpeg

This sentence perfectly captures the Grom struggle. LOL

The trail tech TTO 10mm temp gauge is only $45 on eBay. It'll give you piece of mind. I look at it more than the AFR readings now.
