    MNNTHBX's Monkey / proto-type platform

We were fortunate enough to have Honda fly us out to participate in the Monkey press release, and the opportunity to ride the new bike for those two days left us seriously excited about the new platform. Honda dropped us a bike to work from, and this thread will be about that progression over the coming weeks. A few points worth making...
    (1) We're going to make most aspects of this bike better, but it's important to us to stay true to the heritage and general Monkey vibe. You see understated tasteful enhancements. You won't see drops, stretches, or desperate trinkets thrown on. We'll leave that stuff for someone else...
    (2) We have quiet a few proprietary products currently in development. We may or may not be first to market, but we'll take all the time needed to release the finest components available. An amazing taillight, multiple fender eliminator options, and the coolest intake we've ever done by far just to name a few. Those who can resist buying the first thing they see come out will be rewarded for their patience....

Keep an eye on www.MNNTHBX.com as our Monkey offering will be growing continuously.

The only complaint I had with the stock bike was the OE bar bend, compounded by the fact it held the mirrors too far inward to be of any use. We've sourced our own bar specifically for this bike, in black. Given it's 1" wider and just barely lower, it now holds bar end mirrors allowing a full field of view. Kenda contacted us about testing some of their soon to be released BigBlock tires, so obviously, they went straight on the Monkey. We'll have these in stock soon, but are awaiting their final pricing, rumored to be a bit cheaper than a comparable Maxxis. They certainly look the part. We'll follow up with a performance evaluation later on...

Added the lightweight MNNTHBX sprocket and Driven nuts to lower the gearing a bit, drop unsprung rotational weight, and bring some style...

While we're eating up time developing new product, we'll entertain ourselves bolting up product we know works well. On with our shift lever, which totally eliminates the linkage, and therefore all the slop...

One of the few complaints I had about the Monkey was the narrow bar and tight (useless) mirror spacing. We fixed that will our house bar and bar end mirrors. Tossed on the ASV levers as well. Greatly improved comfort and visibility....

The new Yoshimura Monkey system arrived today, and it's stunning. No hype, this is the single best sounding exhaust I've ever heard on a small bore. Available for pre-order now! https://mnnthbx.com/product/yoshimur...da-monkey-125/
