The GPS has humbled many people. Just like the Dyno.

I will like to add that it sounds like you got a good running Grom to start with. When my grom was stock bore, it would never run as fast as yours.

    Yeah you all...

So a two way run peak to peak averaged 70mph on the GPS. This was the west to east the other is the east to west. Check out the home to west and notice the GPS and the Speedo off by 15 mph because the GPS can't keep up with the acceleration of the Grom!

your G.P.S unit seems to have a lot of lag! I have the speed niks app on my smartphone and can recommend that for a quicker reading.

That's amazing, Leo. I had my Grom up to 8,000 rpm in 4th (62 mph) one time on the freway and it creeped me out going so fast on such a tiny bike!

I was doing about 78 on an on-ramp to the I5 and hit a large transition, death wobble started an I thought I had crapped my pants, worse I've ever experienced on a bike. I no longer use that on ramp.

I did that same thing last year on an '86 Ninja 600R. I was on the 10 fwy one night heading west approaching the 57 North and had a tank slapper so severe at 110 mph that it bruised my knees. That bike is gone, good riddance. I left it at the dealer for the auction yard.

I did a couple speed runs over this last hot Sunday out here in Los Angeles. My GPS showed a peak of 72.79 mph and my speedo flickered 77 mph as the engine hit the rev limiter. I've always needed a down slope to hit the limiter in 4th even with the 36T rear sprocket. I'm thinking a rear tire wearing was just enough to up the dial since I"d only seen 76 indicated at the limiter previously.

For my setup, I can just subtract 4 mph from the gauge and know my real speed that I've dialed in over the last two months that I"ve had this bicycle GPS device.

Going up and down the long steep hills along the 101 fwy from Calabasas to Canoga Park CA at full throttle pretty much the whole way for 15 to 20 miles, my stock engine Grom showed 50 to 77 mph indicated on the speedo again wide open most of the time. That means going up those unusually steep hills I may be going a sketchy, slow 45mph? All them cars slow down too while going up the hills so there is no 30 mph difference when in the far right lane.

The Grom may be slow on the highways but it can still hang with the flow.
