    Old Goat's lame build thread

You'll have to forgive my pictures, I never really intended to make a build thread, so my pictures aren't really the best showing off the new additions. I'll keep each change and new picture to a new post.

Here's the day I got my Grom, January 2016. I couldn't ride it home since I had just had a dirt bike accident and my left arm was completely immobile. I was mad at my dirt bike and sold it, and used the cash for the Grom.

I literally got home with my Grom and promptly ordered a TwoBrothers full exhaust, Vagabond Fender Eliminator, and some new rear blinkers.

I was hopped up on pain meds when the parts arrived a few days later, and I made these two videos of exhaust and fender eliminator.

    Here's my exhaust install:

    Here's my Fender Eliminator install:

These are the only two videos I made about my Grom. I was laid up with my injury and had nothing but time on my hands.

I decided the front blinkers had to go and the stock bars needed a cross bar. At the time, I figured I'm tall, and lower bars was a bad idea. I installed my TST industries flush mount front blinkers, clear, TST relay, and the crossbar I got off eBay, topped off with a Renthal bar pad. My Grom stayed this way for a few months. I had surgery and couldn't do anything for a few months. After surgery healed, I was happy with my Grom when I was able to ride again and thought to myself, I'm done, this is a finished Grom, so I rode it this way for months. I was perfectly happy with this set up.

Then I did my one and only track day with the Grom, and some local guys let me sit on their different Groms with their different bars. I fell in love with some Protaper Honda Mini's and ordered some that same day. I never went back to the track. My shoulder is jacked, even after surgery, and after witnessing a few crashes that day, decided track riding was never going to be for me since I'm too scared of falling on my shoulder again.

Here's my Grom with the Protaper Honda Mini's and PillowTop grips, parked at work alongside my coworkers bicycle he attached a motor too.

After the rest of summer, all of Fall, and most of winter, I decided I needed to step my game up a little bit. I started going on large Grom rides and realized my Grom was severely undercustomized compared to the rest haha.

I ordered a MNNTHBX swingarm extension kit, 4.5", and a Mojo Customs 2.5" lowering link. Once installed, I started seeing what direction I wanted to take my Grom.

After stretching it, a local guy had some race bars for sale, so I went over and bought them and installed right away. I think they are eBay bars, but it gave me the opportunity to try them and give them a go. I like them a lot, so someday I might upgrade to some better ones, but for now they look and work just fine.

Decided I needed a color upgrade, and some new tires. I was originally going to paint all the black red, including the rims, but I liked the storm trooper too much and will keep it black and white for awhile.

New plastics from BikerzBits installed, along with Shinko white walls in stock 130 and 120 sizes.

Once my plastics and tires were on, I realized the red sticker on exhaust and bike had to go, so I removed all the red decals.

My white walls were filthy from installing, so when we finally had a sunny day, I took the Grom out for a good washing and cleaned up the white walls with some Bleche White.

This is how my Grom sits today. I'm currently waiting for new grips to come (to get rid of red end caps), new exhaust sticker, and new OEM black graphics. I found a guy that will make me an all white TwoBrothers sticker for my exhaust, and a guy on this site is making me some OEM style black decals. Based on Dungstars build, I think I'll go white on the forks.
