    Cool Ryans Simple Black Grom

Hey everyone. I just bought a 2017 Grom, so i figured i would post my progress here. It wont be anything super crazy, just some simple stuff that i think will make my grom a bit
    better.

Here is my end goal (i forgot to get rid of the stupid front reflector in photoshop)

    **UPDATED PICTURE** 1/21/17

    **UPDATE** 4-19-17

My planned mod list in order of procurement so far is as follows, Ill update this post as I actually acquire each one.

    ✔️ 1. DIY Fender Eliminator
✔️ 2. Smoked Integrated Tail Light (Steady Garage)
✔️ 3. Bar End Mirrors -- some ebay special probably.
✔️ 4. DIY Starter Motor Cover
    5. Grey Grips -- Biltwell (not sure which style)
    6. Renthal RC High Bars (mnnthbx)
    7. Fully Shaved Boomerangs
    8. Black Calipers -- probably adelins, as they dont have any colorful logos.
    9. Powdercoated Grey Forks
    10. Powdercoated Matte Black Rearsets

maybe the Mojo 2.5" lowering kit in the rear and something similar in the front. i haven't really decided. i don't want to fuck up how it rides.

powder-coating the forks and calipers will probably be the last things i do, because i spent all summer trying to GY6 swap a Metropolitan and finally said fuck it i just want something reliable to ride, so i sold it and bought this, and i really just want to ride for a while and not have it sit around in my living room in pieces. (also my fiancee would murder me if i started taking the new ride apart.)

I would not recommend the vans grips. I have them and they looks SWEET when new but wear out fast and in the summer get very sticky to the point that your hand is harder to pull off the bar.

I had a pair on my metropolitan and they got sticky, i thought it was just because i used hairspray to lubricate them on there. well, i guess ill probably go with a different set of grips then.

    IN OTHER NEWS......

close up of the DIY fender eliminator i made with the stock tag bracket.

thinking about potentially getting these instead of powdercoating the stock ones. they are already black, and ill get the brackets powdered black. it would mean less downtime becuase theyre only down long enough to install them, and it would probably be about the same price after all is said and done.

thanks! it will be slow going as i just got engaged, so i have to save money for the wedding (even though its in 2018) and for paying for my taxes in 2016. (i was a subcontractor.) free mods are great.

the last things i will do will be the forks and calipers, but next is the integrated tail light. im thinking maybe the one from Mojo customs would work, but the price is making me weary that it isnt of the best quality.

bar end mirrors successfully installed, i had to Dremel off the nubs that the expanding parts used to use to center on. i ended up using the stock bar inserts (im assuming they are weighted) and the included bolts just happened to be the right thread pitch for the bar end inserts.

I am also looking at this exhaust once i have the funds, but it seems its more or less permanently out of stock, so i may just buy the muffler from Steady, and have something made.

the muffler can be found here https://www.steadygarage.com/store/d...-steel-muffler

did some stuff to the grom, just little stuff. made my own starter motor cover. im trying to make an aluminum cell phone mount too, but i dont have a metal brake so i can't bend it the way it needs to be bent. i will probably look into building my own, on the cheaps.

hit 300 miles! halfway to break in. so far my top speed has been like 53 sitting straight up. probably since im a little fatter than i should be. whatever. i like food.
