Congrats on the Kitaco 164. Great mix of power and reliability. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

    Pretty much my setup.

Once i figured out the mod for the finbro ecu and cold starting, the thing has been great. (see my signature below for the link)

About the ONLY thing id have left to do to make it super reliable is a different cam chain tensioner wheel, but 500 miles and no rubber shavings yet.

While your in there doing the clutch springs, do yourself a favor, replace the thrust washer, clutch collar, and throwout bearing... 10 bucks in parts that are prone to wearing out (my clutch collar had glazed over and would squeal)

I was originally going to go with the Takegawa 143 until I found the 164cc for such a good deal, plus I get to add an oil cooler without the Kitaco clutch cover! Also have the Finbro cold fix saved!

For the cam tensioner wheel, what do you recommend? I was looking at FinBro Cam Chain Tensioner Roller Upgrade - Finbrogarage

Did you replace the thrust washer, clutch collar, and throwout bearing with OEM parts?

Does anyone know what injector the Kitaco kit comes with? Will it be OK with the Finbro?

No idea what injector comes with the 164 light bore kit and cam package (i bought the type 1 cam and ran that in my 125cc bore for awhile then purchased the 164 kit without the cam). Definitely report back on that injector! If its the PCX150 injector its going to run too lean with the finbro ecu and the 164... I had to switch to the Finbro supplied "6 hole Keihin" injector which is off the CBR150R

OEM parts for the clutch collar, thrust washer and TOB.

I have not upgraded the cam chain tensioner wheel, but i have swapped out the stock rubber button on the top of the cam chain tensioner push rod with a nylon bolt that i filed down round. I did know Finbro usa had those arms... im tempted to put one in now as that is my last "unreliable" part i have in my bbk setup.

Check out the build thread for some of the details

The injector is the Keihin EF04-NNJ unit, but I couldn't find anything online about it. Will just have to wait for it to get here.

Edit** Here is the injector, looks like they recommend it in the 181cc. Hopefully it will work with the finbro and 164

So I have been doing some research about letting the grom breath with the BBK and have a couple questions. Will a slight port/polish on the stock throttle body be enough or will the Koso TB and IT manifold be worth it? I have read that the Koso TB is kind of pointless with stock valves?

BrianS tested the stock TB and said it's good to 170cc, I believe. The important part is the porting job on your head and having enough flow on the exhaust. Koso TB would be overkill, and particularly pointless without matching the intake port.

    Cisco swears by it, though

    ^^

Stock tbody is plenty big. Sure, you can replace it for a larger one and see some improvements, but you would see the best improvement from larger valves and a ported head, as thats the major restriction.
