What RPM are you cruising at when at top speed? My bike is completely stock and when sitting up tops out at 57 mph @ only 7k. When tucking I can get to 59-60 but only @7500. Even on a down hill it will not reach 8k. So far with 250 miles. My highest speed is 63. I'm 5'7" 160lbs...judging by what others have posted I feel like there should be a little more there.
So, top speed, what rpms are you turning? Tucked and not tucked
Ive seen others posting videos an there at 8k plus a lot of them say that it makes the best power at 8k, a lot of people are also complaining that 4th gear is very long an hard to reach high rpms, I would advise the xr80 14t sprocket, also they say these bikes go faster as they age due to tight build
I already have the 14t laying around (lots of bikes in the garage) but it seems most people hadn't changed to the 14 and were still hitting 8k+. Guess I can just keep putting miles on it and see if she will loosen up that much
I feel like the 14 tooth is about perfect, more acceleration and you still have the top end to hit 70 mph.
The 13 tooth is fun, lots of acceleration but top speed is reduced to 65 or so at rev limiter. Would be perfect if we could tune/remove the limiter but can be annoying when you hit the rev limiter.
Im still running the 13 tooth as I enjoy the extra torque/power and the bike still only wants to cruise around the same speed at 60ish anyway
With the 13 tooth im up at 8500+-9000 cruising though.
All about aero at those speeds. Gotta tuck with your elbows in front of your torso and chin on the instrument cluster. It smacked the rev limiter in 4th which surprised me.
